I admit it, Halloween is not my favorite holiday. I don't hate it, I just don't see the point in spending a lot of money or time on it. We manage to throw costumes together every year mostly with stuff we have around the house (see a few of last year's costumes
here,
here and
here), and we have had a total of approximately 7 trick-or-treaters come to our house in the past 13 years. It's kind of hard to get excited about that.
However, I finally put up one Halloween decoration for the benefit of our mailman and the 4 other people that might come to my front door between now and the 31st. (I didn't even design it myself. It's just a "Doodlebat" I found online.) Voila.
I feel much better now. :)

you are too funny! It is cute. and all i did was put up a table runner of three pumpkins in my window. and then put three pumpkins on my front porch. ta da.
I like decorating for fall--pumpkins, an autumn wreath, some cute autumn-colored chicken things on the table. But I DO NOT like Halloween. At all. We offer our kids $10 each to forgo the "celebration." They sometimes take us up on the offer but sometimes they want to do something with their friends.
I've gone the gamut on costumes--from making them, buying them (on sale) to scrounging something up. Now that my kids are older, they're on their own.
In spite of all I've said, I do think your "boo" is really cute.
Have fun at Les Mis! I am taking my daughter and seeing it Friday night. I can't wait. It's my favorite!!
I totally get you, Missy! This is how I feel. I love fall, but Halloween is not my favorite and I dread having to come up with costumes for my kids!
AH...7 trick or treaters....I think we get 107 here....maybe we should move to that house over by you!
I share your feelings....just ask your husband. There were 5 deprived halloweeners at our house....but we beat your record...only 1 family ever visited us out on the farm!!
