A Beautiful Storm
This storm blew in the other day after wreaking havoc in the next town over. There were severe wind gusts that caused plenty of damage, but by the time it arrived in my little corner, the wind had died down and all we got were these amazing clouds and plenty of soothing rain and thunder. It was so pretty. I love how you can clearly see the storm clouds overhead, but it's blue skies on the horizon.
It was a beautiful storm!

December Sunset
I just wanted to share a glimpse of the coolest sunset we had the other day. This is a southern view so the brightest part of the sunset is to the right of the photo. But there was this bizarre blanket of clouds covering the sky and the sunset was reflected off the bottom of the clouds all the way across. Isn't it pretty! And it was changing every second. I took a bazillion photos, but I'll spare you the incremental changes and just give you a peek.

BYU Sunset
My brother Rob sent me this photo from the BYU game tonight. Look at that sky! Oh, so pretty.
Not only was the evening perfect for a football game, but we came away with the win (45-38).
It doesn't get much better than that. Go Cougars!

Stormy Beautiful Weather
Hi, my name is Missy and I'm addicted to clouds. (Hi, Missy...)
The last picture was taken just after we pulled in (that is my next door neighbor's house.) Right after that, the sky got really dark and it started to rain. We had a lot of rain earlier in the summer, but it's been a while. We've desperately needed a good rain storm and, boy howdy, that's exactly what we got! It rained and rained. The streak lightning and gunshot thunder only added to the effect.
I love me a good thunderstorm. This one was awesome!
I know, I know. How many pictures of clouds can one person post? Well, the answer is, a whole lot more than you can imagine. If you only knew how much restraint I've shown over the years. If you saw how many pictures of clouds I take then you'd know I am the model of self-restraint since I only post a very small fraction of those. You're welcome.
Anyway, we walked out of a restaurant about 15 minutes from home last night and this is what we saw:
It kind of reminds me of a UFO. The storm was moving pretty quickly and ended up following us home.
I love me a good thunderstorm. This one was awesome!

So Far This Summer

An April Sky
The sunrise this morning was so pretty with the sun streams pouring out of the clouds.
Within an hour, the clouds turned mean as a thunderstorm rolled in. The progression of the storm was pretty amazing. I could literally see the storm rolling across the sky.
We got some heavy rain and a few roars of thunder, but the storm didn't last very long. It left behind huge fluffy white clouds and a beautiful sunny day.
I love Spring!

| For the record, we don't have any mountains here. That dark layer above the horizon on the left is more storm clouds pushing their way through. |
| You can still see a few sun streams on the right half of the picture. They were soon overtaken by the black clouds on the left. |

360º Sunset
We had a stunning sunset tonight. I've never seen anything quite like it. It was unusual because it was reflected in the clouds in every direction. In fact, I first noticed it in the east as I looked out my living room window. I could see it was even brighter out our south-facing window. It was not as vivid, but still easily visible to the north. But to the west, it just got brighter and brighter as the sun sank deeper and deeper into the horizon.
Sadly, I broke our camera on Christmas when I dropped it on the hard floor. It won't even turn on. :( My phone takes pretty lousy pictures, so I'm stealing one of Jeff's pictures. It's a lot better than anything I took, but it still doesn't do it justice. I wish you could have seen the real thing!

The Same Sky
Sometimes it's all about your perspective.
Tonight the eastern sky looked a little foreboding. It was overcast and dark.
But it was deceiving. A 180º turn revealed a different picture.
The sky to the west was breathtaking.
How can two views of the same sky, taken only seconds apart, tell completely different stories?
Perhaps it is because things always look better when you look to the sun.

Cool Clouds
I love clouds. If I posted pictures of clouds every time I think they are cool or unique or photo worthy, I'd have at least three cloud posts a week! My kids think I'm crazy and roll their eyes each time I say, "Ooh, look at those clouds!" But I can't help it. I love them. So here you go - the clouds that were outside my window about 30 minutes ago. Kind of makes you want to say, "Ooh, look at those clouds!" :)
